Channel 8 has had many names but currently, as a part of Wildcat Electronic Media, we hope to establish new faces in the world of multimedia journalism. Giving young people the skills to excel in the ever-changing landscape of the media industry.

Starting in 1953 with the founding of the Department of Radio and TV, Channel 8 has been a part of Kansas State University for 70 years!

We received our current designation of KKSU in December of 2002.

In 2016, Andrew Smith became our News Director, a 25-year veteran of local TV news. Smith is an Emmy winning journalist who has travelled the country as a sport broadcaster.

We now have joined up with Wildcat 91.9 to form "Wildcat Electronic Media". With the goal of having a unified single brand under the Kansas State Umbrella.
